Claude training for business teams in Canada

Hero trains Canadian office teams on Anthropic's Claude — remotely nationwide, or in person in the GTA — once the company owns a Team or Enterprise workspace. The goal is the same as our other tool sessions: people practise on real (non-sensitive) work inside an account the organization controls, learn when Claude is the better fit than Microsoft Copilot, and leave with a short habit plan. Readers asking "is Claude training on my data?" should start with does AI train on your data?; this page is about rollout and skill, not the privacy matrix.

Claude Team vs Enterprise for an office team

Anthropic's business plans are Team (self-serve, collaborative) and Enterprise (more admin and compliance). Checked October 16, 2026 against Anthropic Help and product pages:

Claude TeamClaude Enterprise
Best forSmall and mid-size teams that want shared Projects, SSO and central billingLarger orgs that need SCIM, audit logs, custom retention, network controls

Seat tip: Standard seats suit most knowledge workers. Premium seats (roughly 5× Standard usage) fit people who live in Claude all day. Mix seats in one Team workspace rather than upgrading everyone.

Personal Claude Pro or Max accounts are fine for learning on fictional examples. They are the wrong home for client files, employee data or confidential strategy — the company cannot offboard them cleanly, and consumer training defaults differ from Team/Enterprise.

Projects: shared context without pasting the same brief every time

Projects are Claude's strongest team feature for office work. Each Project is a workspace with its own instructions, knowledge files and chat history (Anthropic, What are projects?). On Team and Enterprise, you can share a Project so several people chat against the same background documents.

A practical setup for a 15-person office:

  1. One "Company voice" Project with brand tone notes, public product blurbs and a "never invent prices" instruction. Share as Can view for everyone; Can edit for two owners.
  2. One Project per department (Client service, Ops, Marketing) with role-specific checklists and sample (non-sensitive) templates.
  3. Keep HR, payroll and legal matters out of broadly shared Projects. Put those in a tightly shared Project or keep them out of Claude until counsel agrees.
  4. Label fictional vs real. File names like `SAMPLE-client-email.txt` stop people from treating demo text as live client data.
  5. Review quarterly. Delete stale uploads. Stale knowledge is how Claude confidently cites last year's policy.

Paid plans can use RAG-backed project knowledge when the corpus grows large; Free users are capped at five Projects. For training day, bring one shared Project already provisioned so nobody spends the first hour uploading PDFs.

When Claude vs Microsoft Copilot (honest section)

Pick from your stack, not from a hype chart.

Many Canadian Microsoft 365 shops keep Copilot for email and meetings and add Claude for deep document work. Paying both seats for every person is rarely necessary — assign Claude to roles that live in long-form writing and research. For OpenAI's side of the stack, see ChatGPT training. Claude workspace checklist before training

  1. Confirm Team or Enterprise, not a pile of personal Pro accounts.
  2. Invite with work email and turn on SSO if available so leavers lose access with their directory account.
  3. Create the shared Project(s) above and test that every attendee can open them.
  4. Owners: review Organization settings → Data and Privacy. Commercial plans do not train by default; Owners can disable feedback buttons org-wide (Anthropic commercial training FAQ, cited on our data page).
  5. Write three rules on one page. Work workspace only; what never goes in; human check before send. Use the employee AI policy template.
  6. Have three people sign in once the day before. MFA prompts eat live session time.

Role exercises (Claude training lab)

Half-day private team training from C$2,500, remote across Canada or on site via Toronto training. Public workshop seats at C$129 and 1:1 coaching at C$295 also work when Claude is the approved tool.

Exercise A — Shared Project grounding (20 min). Open the Company voice Project. Ask Claude to draft a client update using only the Project files. Then ask: "Which Project files did you rely on, and what did you invent?" People learn to notice invention.

Exercise B — Long document squeeze (25 min). Upload or paste a long non-sensitive PDF (or use a public annual-report excerpt). Produce a five-bullet exec brief, a risk list, and three questions the document never answers. Compare two people's outputs for drift.

Exercise C — Tone and precision (20 min). Take a stiff internal memo. Ask for a clearer version that keeps every number and commitment unchanged. Diff the result line by line.

Exercise D — Role prompts (30 min). Each person runs two of these on sample work:

  1. Coordinator: "Using only the Project checklist, draft a kickoff agenda for a fictional internal project. Mark every item that needs a date from me."
  2. Writer: "Rewrite this page for a busy manager. Keep claims only where the source supports them; list unsupported lines separately."
  3. Analyst: "Turn this table description into plain-language findings and three follow-up data questions. Do not invent percentages."
  4. Manager: "From these meeting notes, list decisions, undecided topics, and owners. Invent nothing."
  5. Client service: "Draft a short reply that owns a delay, states [new date], and stays calm. Cap 100 words."
  6. Anyone: "List assumptions in your last answer that I must verify in a primary source."

Extra starter prompts and library habits live in the free AI guide until a dedicated prompt-library page ships.

FAQ: Claude training

How much does Claude training cost with Hero?

Private team sessions start at C$2,500 before tax. 1:1 is C$295 per 90 minutes. Anthropic's own docs and Claude Academy-style materials are separate and often free.

Is Claude safe for client information?

On Team/Enterprise, Anthropic does not train on your content by default. That is not the same as "paste anything." Your policy, contracts and Canadian privacy duties still apply. See what information should not go into AI.

We already pay for Microsoft 365 Copilot. Do we need Claude?

Only if people need a strong document Project workspace beyond what Copilot covers well for your roles. Many teams run both for different jobs; few need both seats on every person.

Do you train on Claude Code?

Developer-focused Claude Code sessions are available on request. Most office Claude training stays on chat + Projects for writing, analysis and client communication.

Is this an Anthropic certification?

No. Practical skill training only.
