AI Readiness Assessment · Where to start
In plain words, it’s an audit of how ready your team and company are to use AI well and safely. We look at the tools in use, how information is handled, where AI fits your work, people’s skills, your rules and your risks. You get a readiness report, a prioritized 90-day roadmap, the policy gaps and a training plan.
The useful detailsThe assessment is from C$1,500, before tax; we confirm the price for your team before you pay. Fixed scope, agreed in writing. Your report and roadmap arrive 1 to 2 weeks after the working session. It is led by our founder and/or a Hero team member.
We confirm scope and send an invoice. No card needed. Full refund if you cancel before the kickoff session. Refund terms

Turnaround
From the working session to your written report and roadmap.
Where
On video anywhere in Canada, or in person at your office in the GTA.
Any industry, any team size. If it’s the wrong size, we’ll say so.
Six areas. Each one gets a rating and plain-language findings in your report.
Which AI tools people actually use, including the ones leadership has not approved. Personal or business accounts. The AI features already switched on in software you pay for, and seats or subscriptions that overlap.
What kinds of information go into AI tools today: client, employee, financial or confidential business information. Which accounts it goes into, and how those accounts are set for data retention and model training.
The repeated tasks that take the most time, where AI could help with a first draft or a summary, and where it should stay out: decisions about people, professional advice, anything that needs a qualified sign-off.
Who uses AI and how often, how people check what it gives them, and where they get stuck. Most of this comes from the anonymous survey, so people can answer honestly, and the rest from the interviews.
Whether you have a written AI use policy and an approved-tool list, who decides on new tools, who owns AI use day to day, and whether clients need to be told when AI is used on their work.
The specific ways AI use could go wrong for your business: confidential information in personal accounts, unchecked output reaching clients, tools nobody owns, and vendor terms nobody has read.
01 · Report
Each of the six areas rated on a simple four-step scale (not started, early, partly in place, in place), with the reasons behind each rating. It describes your business. It is not a benchmark against other companies.
02 · Roadmap
The first 90 days: the one to three uses worth doing first, each with an owner and a way to tell whether it works. What to leave alone for now, and why. The order of work, week by week.
03 · Policy
What is missing from a basic AI use policy for your team: approved tools, information that never goes in, required checks and who decides. Plus the questions to take to your privacy lead or counsel.
04 · Training
Who needs training, on what, and in what order. It names the format that fits, which may be your own people coaching each other rather than anything you buy from us.
05 · Risks
The risks we found, the most serious first, each with a practical fix and who should own it.
06 · Session
A live session with your leadership to walk through what we found, test the priorities against what you know, and agree what happens first. The written documents follow.
We agree the date of the working session when we confirm scope, before anything is invoiced, so you know when to expect the results before you pay. The survey and interviews happen before that session and are scheduled around your team. The written report and roadmap arrive 1 to 2 weeks after the working session.
For an example of the level of detail in a roadmap, see the illustrative 90-day plan on AI consulting in Canada. It is a made-up example, not a client’s plan.
From C$1,500, before tax. What moves the price: how many people, teams and tools we look at, whether sessions are in person or online, and travel outside the GTA. We confirm the price for your team in writing before you pay. No card is charged on this site.
The roadmap is written so your team can act on it without us. If you want help, the usual next steps are team training for the people named in the training plan, AI consulting while you roll the roadmap out, or AI security work such as an AI use policy and secure setup. Each is quoted or priced separately, and each is your choice.
GOOD QUESTIONS. STRAIGHT ANSWERS.
Still have something on your mind?
Talk to a real personThe readiness assessment is a fixed-scope piece of work with a posted starting price: it tells you where you stand and what to do first. AI consulting is the ongoing help afterwards, if you want it: rolling out the first uses, choosing tools, setting who owns what and checking progress. Consulting is quoted after the assessment, based on what we found.
The readiness assessment covers the whole picture: people, workflows, skills, policy and risk, with data handling as one of six areas. The AI security assessment goes deeper on one question: which AI tools are in use, what data goes into them and who has access, with a closer review of admin settings. If your main worry is information leaking into AI tools, start there instead. If you're not sure, we'll recommend one on the Fit Call.
No. It is a practical business assessment. It is not a certification, a SOC 2 or ISO audit, a penetration test, a formal compliance report or legal advice. If you need one of those, we'll say so on the Fit Call and point you to the right kind of specialist.
Leadership: a kickoff, an interview and the working session. Staff: a short anonymous survey, plus interviews with a few of the people who do the work. We schedule around your team and agree the list of people when we confirm scope.
Only what you approve, and you can remove it at any time. We look at how your tools are set up, usually on a screen share with your administrator. We don't need to read client files or private messages to do this work.
No. In that case the assessment puts more weight on where AI fits and what to put in place before people start, such as an approved tool and a short policy. The survey often shows that some staff already use AI on their own accounts.
It is led by our founder and/or a Hero team member. You'll know who is running your assessment before it starts, and you can reach us directly by phone or email.
No. The roadmap is written so your team can act on it without us. If you want help later, consulting, training and AI security work are separate, and each is your choice.
Full refund if you cancel before the kickoff session. Once the kickoff has happened, the fee covers work already delivered. Full terms are on the Refunds page.
