AI readiness checklist for owners

Ownership
If nobody owns it, do not roll it out.
- An owner is accountable for the outcome
- Managers know what is expected
- Someone owns the tool list
- People know where to raise a problem
Is the task ready?
A good first task happens often, has clear edges, and a person can check it.
- The current process is written down, even roughly
- It happens often enough to matter
- You can tell good work from bad work before you test
- You can try it without a custom software project
Are the tool and the information safe?
Approved tools, a list of sensitive categories, and a fake example to practise on. Retention settings are a question for the vendor and your adviser, not a guess.
Do people know what to do?
Access is not skill. People need to know how to give context, how to review, and who will back them up the week after training.
How to read the list
Do not add the answers into a pretend industry score. Fix the gap that would make the first workflow unsafe or useless. Hero's assessment is this conversation, written down, with a 90-day order of work.
